It is also the age of 'swipe a tithe'. And the preachers are the most notorious with the use of those gadgets. So irritating...One of them with a middle class lady started 'singing' when the preacher was praying and she could not figure out how to stop it...She had to rush out with it...

I agree but must add that this 'fancy gadgets' should include tight skirts, above the knee skirts, low chest blouses exposing nyonyos and fancy exposed ladies underwears displayed infront of you in church.they are more distracting than the ipads ideos iPhone etc. punda amecheka

This thread has too much bile... na ni ya kanisa? I don't know about others but I find it more convenient to carry and read my Bible from the phone. Maybe one should seek to do that which took you to church... not look around at what others have (hoping ofcourse that its not flaunted too much infront of you)

Problem lies with the church leadership. If the pastor's wife displays cleavage and thighs what does she expect the youth to do? surely there must be a difference between church and world but that doesn't mean dressing up like my grandma.Just keep it decent to avoid distractions. God loves order and technology. The church must catch up with the times. But anything hindering people from meeting and being ministered to by God can easily evolve into an idol not matter how useful and convinient. CHurches should designate areas for people who want to use the gadgets to sit. Just like they do for parents with young babies. Then the gadget owners can mingle freely and dont have to distract the rest of the congregation. Lord, thank you!

So why mention this if not to brag? And why do you need the 2 gadgets that are basically 'the same', that is purpose and function-wise? This reminds me of a guy who was sitting next to me at the pub yesterday and he had placed an iphone and galaxy S4 on the bar counter, to brag of course since he never received or made any calls, just displaying his phones. Thanks @ jaggernaut, for noting my last statement above. It was deliberately included. If it sounds foolish reading it online from an unknown wazuan, imagine how it feels being done by the guy seated to you in church. But for real there are guys who carry both these gadgets.

Why would someone tweet while you they in a church and the service is going on? Why? Church is 1-2hrs per week. People cannot leave their phones at home and dedicate 1.2% (2hrs out of a 168hr week) of their time each week to God? Set out to correct the world's wrongs and you will most certainly wind up adding to them.

I have an audio dramatized kjv bible myself i listen to when commuting or in the office or at home and hymns and steps to christ etc. Actually i find reading AND listening simultaneously is more vivid. in my honest opinion, nothing beats flipping the kjv, hymns and sop pages the good old fashioned way. Am more out of tune with church goers than with my bible. Light Bearer

If only God could show them his powers! All christians should respect God's house. Siku hizi naona watu waki receive ata simu. Unapata mtu ameinama kwa bench shouting, yet he thinks he is whispering!

I heard a sermon in Mavuno (on youtube), where the preacher told people to get their phones/ipads etc, went ahead to give the reading of the day. People were asked to tweet, update etc and share it. I find this thread to be a weapon of the enemy. Bad mouth people, create hatred, encourage judging and break up the mood of a church goer. I ask again, why not focus on what took you to church? If someone goes to church with an ipad, iphone, galaxy whatever... isn't that his right? Are you in his heart to know his motives? FOCUS on you and your God and let his people be!

Yes, of course. Muslims believe in all prophets of God. From: - Adam - Enoch - Noah - Lot - Abraham - Ishmael - Issac - Jacob - Joseph - Aron - Moses - David - Solomon - Job - Ezekiel - Jonah - Elias - Elisha - Zakarias - John - Jesus - Muhammad peace be upon them all They all called people to believe that there's only one God, creator of the universe.

blown out of proportion. thought this was about the distractions caused by such gadgets and not their use. If you all fill the aisle and block others view sio poa. promote the church by buying their recordings if you are truly committed, not doing it yourself kisapere.
