With all this rain and water going to waste;there is need to build a high grand falls dam with a capacity to generate about 1 Gigawatt of electricity.
KENGEN is reporting that its hydro dams are full and the excess water could have been channelled to the high grand falls dam.Energy supply could be a thing of the past and now we could be thinking of distribution.

Kool! Kenya is bigger than KPLC shareholders (How I already regret having these 'communist' sentiments).
Pesa Nane plans to be shilingi when he grows up.

Yes, but that angle of things was evaluated and a conclusion was made that it would be expensive yet it doesn't always rain like this, so better channel the money to Geothermal

@murchr;The money being spent to construct the Olkaria I and IV to generate 280 MW is enough to construct the Grand Falls Dam with a capacity to generate about 1200MW.
Since 2010 we have been having heavy rains and the water has been going to waste.
The revenue generated from this power stations could then have been used to fund the geothermal power. The dam could also have a reservoir that can last a year plus.
Hydro power is the cheapest source of power and now we could be enjoying cheaper electicity tariffs and there would have been no need of raising the tariffs.
Ethiopia suffered the worst drought in the world in 1984 but has that stopped them from constructing hydro power dams.
The issue of geothermal energy was an avenue of some people to enrich themselves because of the huge capital cost involved otherwise why was Ahmed Abednassir on Eddy Njoroge's case concerning these projects that some people were enriching themselves.

Kplc is very mean in dividends, the share has stagnated for a very longtime, there is alot of corruption/bribery with legal and illegal connections.this is a poorly run company without independence.

A lesson for me.

Populism not sense/logic will always won out. Sigh, I shall bail out ASAP. Where's @thedeal who prefers Umeme to KPLC... Careful what happened to us in KPLC doesn't happen to you in Umeme.

Invest in firms that don't catch the populist eye. Or pay a super discount. Of course, banks will be exempt when you consider who owns CBA.
