Now solidly at 500...almost 400 shillings in capital gains. If we had another consistent and solid divided payer and cheaply priced i would sell.

My only question is. How do you pick them?

I predict a split either 1 to 5 or 1 to 10. The news should be delivered in mid february when the audited results are announced. Issued shares is just 100mn shares so 1 to 5 will result in 500mn shares or 1bn shares incase of 1 to 10 split.

Anytime i peep at this stock, it remind's me of E.A Cables pre-split of 2006. (From 40s to 600+ in a year).
DAMN, THOSE WERE OPPORTUNITIES WE MISSED.
I just hope BAT won't tank ex-split, like what cables did.

But cables even after split still rose to an all time high of about 110bob before free fall to current levels. BAT is guided by fundamentals

some of this highly priced stocks are driven by scarcity of supply and high demand for dividend.

I just read contradictory statements. Initialy, they state that number of shipments to egypt reduced in 1H, then go ahead and state that 1H2012 they reported a 20p.c PAT jump to 1.04B.

Therefore we can conclude that the number of shipments is not related to Profitability.

Weak KES? When did the KES drop to 100+? A smart or lucky exporter could have sold the $ at 100+ thus reaping huge gains in that period.

I thought i had read this before,so some brokers still execute trades despite knowing the foreign ownership threshold having been attained...the price stagnates but never selling this one.
