I am a lawyer, I have been for 7 yrs now, I take all sorts of cases both civil and criminal. I have won 90% of the cases I have taken, some of them high profile. I will be willing to listen to you, please feel free to ask questions. Let me know when we can meet and where. Thanks

@Wendz
Do you know anyone along river road who can create a law degree? A friend of mine want to graduate with honors,in fact he might need a masters too. Please let me know ASAP so that I can advise him.

I don't even know what SMH means!

Yes.Not with Strathmore.Try Oshwal College since their classes start January.Good luck

Yes tuition is offered in Kenya at strathmore & oshwal but I had to fly to Jo'burg to do the exams Sad

These are the Dec 2013 exam centres and Kenya is not included..

www.cfainstitute.org/pro...st_center_locations.aspx

I started studying for CFA Level 1 in February, and got the curriculum books from CFA in March, and I feel like I am not going to be ready for June 2013, and I am now considering if things go bad, I might as well go to Jo' burg or Dubai to sit for the 2013. (This thing needs at least more than 6 months of study, especially if working.) My question is, for those who have, what kind of costs on average should be considered allowing for say four days ( Accommodation and flight). If you've gone out of Kenya to do CFA, what was your experience/costs/Visa requirements etc Also for those who are considering and have looked into it, please share. Anyone's timely response on this will be much appreciated.

FYI: CFA is taught both in Oshwal Collage and Strathmore University. Both have a program that begins from July or Sept ( one of the two). Oshwal in addition has a crush course beginning January. If you are a well motivated, diligent and disciplined person, you may not need tuition at all. CFA is designed to be a self study course and you could save yourself the expense, if you can find at least 450hrs more or less of study time from your busy life - 300 for studying the material and 150 for taking sample questions and mock papers... You are good. I must admit, the amount of reading can be voluminous and can take a lot of time to understand and internalise ( dependant of background and ability), hence tuition might help.

Kenya only has the June session for the exams. If you wish to take them in December, then you'd have to take them in Dubai or South Africa... else, you'd have to wait for June the following year.

They way you describe the CFA, it sounds much like the CCIE's and JNCIE's in IT world, right?

No intention to hijack thread, but last time I checked, there was btn 20-30 CCIE's and no JNCIE in Kenya. This may have changed though.

All the best to those planning study for CFA's and other business exams.. smile

KR,

NO... and CFA institute do not indicated any preference like guru267 is suggesting, other than you have to have relevant experience, please refer to CFA institute website for the correct info about how to qualify for CFA certification.

@Rollout get off my case... I have accepted that you did CFA in 18months Sawa?? Si now you can move on???

There is nowhere I have stated that those preferences are expressly from the CFA institute... I was merely stating where one can find relevant experience for the charter... Or is it that you do not know what "etc etc" means???

NKT!!!
