I tried searching a topic here on solar system installation.

Where do I get good deal in Nairobi for solar system for my upcountry home? I'm looking for:
1. Solar panel (small duty)
2. Inverter
3. IS (what is IS?)
4. Cables
5. etc (what else do I need?)

@AlphDoti, I bought a system for my father in shags 9 years ago from Davis & shirtliff;
1. One x 220 watt panel.
2. Two x 150AH GASTON batteries.
3. One x 660W Opti inverter / Charger
4. Cabling, labour e.t.c - I got a local guy to do)

So far it is still going strong, when fully charged it gives 12hrs of power to 8 bulbs ( 2 security lighting overnight till morning) one 29 inch A/C color TV (on averagely 6hrs daily) and occasional one water booster pump twice daily.

The key is get the right panel and batteries to match your demand.

NB: More efficient panels have come into the market though - you need to research more.
