Nice. This should put a value to I&M's stake in BCR. In the long(er) term, I think I&M should buy out the 20% by issuing I&M shares to BCR shareholders & then cross-list in Rwanda.

smile shareholders wealth is being unlocked. i also agree, the I&M should be given the chance to buy the 20% shares and then cross-list in Rw. ... whichever way, I&M and City Trust shareholders wealth is being unlocked

And the PAT for BCR is already up for 2012 vs 2011 so by the time BCR is up for listing [I assume it will be after the I&M shares list on the NSE in June 2013] the 1H 2013 results will be out which should show a gain on 2012 as well. It's all good!

I've looked at BCR FY12 performance and its indeed impressive. BCR has also pointed synergies created by its becoming a regional bank via I&M relation. These synergies will pay well. ... You have however lost me at the point you say that the 2012 gain will be accounted in I&M 1H 2013. I thought BCR being a subsidiary, its 2013 performance is the one to be consolidated in I&M bank 2013 performance

I said that BCR's 1H 2013 (post I&M) should be much better than 1H 2012 (pre-I&M) & this will be reflected in a higher price realization per share of BCR (vs what I&M paid for BCR) when it lists.
