This is very unusual for Jubilee and I can't fathom what the reason for this. As a long term holder of the stock, I however have faith in the management and the board. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. I am sure they have very good reasons for the delay.

I am also optimistic of a good performance from the veritable insurance giant with an EPS of approx 50. As for DPS we shall be our usual mean selves with something in the range of 5.50 to 6.00 for the full year. There's a possibility of a bonus, but my dream did not get that far.

Is there some blockbuster news in the works? A takeover? A merger?

Wow! Until the last possible day. Either it is an awful result or a great set with a Bonus/Split & a hefty dividend!

Their NSE listed portfolio companies (i.e. where they have substantial stakes) have reported good figures, with the exception of TPS (which were not that bad). Indications are also that Non listed associates such as Seacom and the power companies are doing fine. Their property investments should also be doing fine in line with market trends over 2012.

So unless their insurance business suffered horrendous claims in 2012, I still expect good results. BTW, Jubilee is probably the top company when it comes to ceding premiums to reinsurers. So, I don't usually worry too much on that score as I presume that they are reasonably well protected.

Well, today is the D-Day, unless they have sought an extension from the NSE/CMA!!!!!

Dear JHL,

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you didn't say
I just died in your arms tonight

I keep looking for something I can't get (bonus and dividends)
Broken hearts lie all around me
And I don't see an easy way to get out of this
Her diary it sits on the bedside table
The curtains are closed, the cats in the cradle
Who would've thought that a boy like me could come to this

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been some kind of kiss
I should've walked away, I should've walked away...

The way to interpret this
1. Have the insurance brokers cried over unpaid commissions?
2. Are claims being honoured timely?
Hold on !
