IMHO...Zimbabwe was under occupation by the west under the guise of large-scale farmers. According to Mugabe,there was an MOU with the occupying nation to hand-over the resource that is land to the original owners(smoothly).Naturally,this was not to be. Picture this,what if Mugabe decided to be a gentleman,and went to the ICC to file a case there?Predictable outcome? Granted,the means he employed was illegal,but that was his only chance of winning. That his efforts to right colonial injusticies have been fought by the same colonialists with dire consequences to his people,is clear testimony who the enemy is here.

Accept it or deny it....you need the West. Where an African can do 1 mile,a Westerner can do 2 or more... I will not delve into the history that has led to this phenomenon but it is the reality.

It has taken Michael Joseph to steer Safaricom to the heights it has reached and continues to soar. Patia hiyo kampuni one of our own and they will run it to the ground faster than Bolt can say Bolt.

It really is pretentious to tell off these people on one hand and be signing for aid from donors on the other...(particularly because we tell them off because they are from the West. We always trash the real issues in favour of sideshows).

I am not providing any solution to this because a wholesome attitude change is difficult where people are living in different circumstances... But in Africa,we are just too selfish..our lot in life is to amass personal wealth as soon as the opportunity arises. Hakuna kufikiria mwingine...and that my friends (from a well travelled Kenyan) is the difference btw the developing and the developed world... Or why else would they spare even a coin to assist countries most would never imagine inhabiting...? Am sure they would find some use for it. They are not obligated to be donors. It is purely selfless...IMHO.

general,

zim was long ago referred to as the bread basket of africa. today,it's gone to the dogs with the biggest inflation in the world. farms seized by mugabe from whites were not given to the poor or needy but to his own cronies and sycophants. meanwhile,mugabe's wife continue with her shopping spree using private jets in big capitals like london,NY,and paris. sample this..........

The couple that brutalizes together stays together. The wife of Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe expressed herself to a lensman trying to photograph her while she was shopping in Hong Kong. The demure Grace,formerly Mugabe's secretary,must not have been having a good hair day.

: Grace Mugabe,43,known as the First Shopper of Zimbabwe,flew into a rage when she was spotted last week leaving the exclusive Shangri-La hotel in Hong Kong. She has been staying there with her entourage at a cost of £2,000 a day while her country endures poverty,hunger and disease.

Holding a Jimmy Choo-style bag estimated to be worth at least £2,000,and hiding behind Cavalli rhine-stone-framed glasses with a red cashmere shawl over her head,she ordered her bodyguard to attack the photographer,Richard Jones.

this is from the much respected wikipedia

Grace Mugabe is known for her lavish lifestyle. The Daily Telegraph called her 'notorious at home for her profligacy' in a 2003 coverage of a trip to Paris[15],during which she was reported as spending £75,000 (approx US$120,000) in a short shopping spree; and over the past years leading to 2004 has withdrawn over £5 million from the Central Bank of Zimbabwe.[12][16] In Zimbabwe she is known sarcastically as 'Gucci Grace' or 'The First Shopper' in reference to her numerous,lavish European shopping sprees. When Grace Mugabe was included in the the 2002 sanctions,one EU parliamentarian said that the ban would 'stop Grace Mugabe going on her shopping trips in the face of catastrophic poverty blighting the people of Zimbabwe.'[17] Mrs Mugabe faces similar sanctions in the United States.[1]

During her tenure as first lady,Grace Mugabe has overseen the construction of two palaces. The first,referred to commonly as 'Gracelands',became controversial for its extravagance,and Grace Mugabe later explained that she had paid for its construction with her own personal savings[5] It has since been sold to Muammar Qaddafi of Libya. The second,completed in 2007,was reported to have cost $26 million to construct and to have been funded by the ZANU-PF party as thanks for Robert Mugabe's political service.[10]

the raping of a nation continues to date.

@kenyanbeef
your idea of African inferiority is rooted in ignorance and low self esteem. U want us to believe that westerners are better than us? Just because you are well traveled? That my friend is BS of the highest order (for lack of a better term).
U don't have to be well traveled to know that what any white person can do an African can match or do better. I'm not even going to go into examples. Your SCOM example doesn't count. How many successful Kenyan companies do we have run by Kenyans? Do all Kenyans have a lower IQ or leadership ability than MJ?
On the issue at hand; Mugabe & Westerners: The fact of the matter is that there needs to be justice as concerns stolen African land from the times of colonization. Question is: Should we give all our land to the S. Koreans coz they might do a better job at production than us? I don't support Mugabe's actions against human rights but neither do I support stripping Africans of their land rights because they 'cannot produce any food anyway.'
That's the same excuse that was used for colonization. The black man cannot rule himself.
