hi,

CITZEN TV is facing serious cash problem due to the fact that they ambitious growth plan is not generating the target income...plus the cost of paying TV presenters who were poached from other media houses....they have also invested heavily in local productions which are very costly to run..........also remember that KIss TV IS been lanched very soon...

its time peolpe get out of this sinking ship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ Ray
I hope you will spare a minute and answer the following:
i) 'They Poached Presenters'. Are you trying to poach viewers/investors from the said?
ii) Is the sinking of the 'ship' making you happy?
iii) If the quiz (ii) above is not true, assistance are you offering to the 'sinking Ship'.

Thank you.

After all they add no value to the station. Once a presenter switches station his/her star grows dimmer. AA defectors seem unsure of themselves though they might be having the monies,

on the contrary new actors are stealing the show and i think its more prudent to invest in previously untested actors than go for those arleady in business in other stations. take the case of mother-in-law,oj& most ofl the cast in tahidi tabasamu & baba shirandula. The more reason that these are household programmes because they are bringing something new.

The radio division has to be minting cash, but TV could be headed for the dogs, just my 2 cents

I guess if you can't win with facts, you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone.

@ Rayee, dyu mean we jump out of the listed C.Tv.'s competitors? LOL.

What these Citizen guys need is a newspaper that steers away from politics and focuses more on financial and people inetrest nes moreso thru the internet (hopefully they recoup thru advertising). Guys are no longer buying newspapers. I guess it's bad enough seeing that NMG is now delivering a complimentary copy of BD to my office daily

Get real!!!

I have a stake in the media (not citizen) and I can tell you Citizen has made serious cash from media spend (advertising) and unless it has been squandered Citizen is not going anywhere. It's the Equity and KCB combined of media. Just the cash they made from Tusker Project Fame can pay all their tv presenters for one year plus add zain mwala millionaire and Churchill Omo pick a box. The money they are making from the safaricom caravan can pay their radio presenters for a couple of months so stop lying to us.

BBI will solve it

The original post is from last year. Having said that it is always interesting to read this post and see how a TV station that allegedly had money problem is currently still probably the strongest in the market. Talk of humble pies.
