@guru...I have been trying to figure out Olympia...the only tangible asset they have is land (and it forms the bulk of their asset base), price to book value isnt that great, management hasnt been the best with the Matu's (was it father and son act?). Just had zero prospects of going up. In a different thread there was even suggestion that the best they could do was to liquidate by selling the land and rewarding shareholders.

Now the 'donkey' seems to have bolted. Question is:

1) Is it rising simply because the market is rising (even dirt rises with the tide)?

2) Is there non-public info on possible liquidation?

3) Is it a candidate for back-down NSE entry by one of the non-listed banks ala I&M and City Trust?

@Winston None of the above...

Olympia has risen 50% in 2 weeks and in that period the market has been flat and falling so it is definitely not "dirt rising with the tide" smile

Olympia simply has an EPS equivalent to CIC and access so there was no reason for it to trade at below 4bob while CIC is at 5.4 and access at 8.90

The Olympia play at 4bob was a no brainer after witnessing the previous rallies!

@Aguytrying its funny how these "monkeys" are not disappointing right now! I made a killing in Eveready and sold at exactly 3...
Its very very very simple
1.85bob = cheap
3bob = expensive

Instead of following the crowd and calling any stock that has collapsed a monkey! Do yourself some basic objective analysis...

Any analysis will show it is a TABOO for CIC to be above Olympia in share price!

But these have been very thin volumes..the highest in Months has been 83,000 (app Ksh 320k) and an average of 3000 shares for six months

any 'next' round will be sector-wise, not for the whole NSE.

Patience is a virtue I have come to appreciate, albeit at a cost, since I joined NSE in just a couple of months!
