I have lived in Kenya, EU (some countries) and US.

However my verdict is that US is a jungle society.... it is more worse than Kenya.
The keyword is hustling to earn that $ and life is expensive. The deplorable conditions that unemployed people go through is unimaginable. You can only get the absolute truth from someone who has lived there and is not a professional.

While I agree that the US is a concrete jungle, I think its the best place to be if you are a hustler and want to make money. If you are driven and smart, the US is the ideal place, but if you prefer good living standards but little to no possibility of accumulating wealth, Europe is the place for you. US is extremely competitive and you have to use your brains to get ahead, Europe on the other hand is about holding hands and singing kumbaya...haha that sounds wrong but its true. All in all after all the hustling, Kenya is THE ideal place to retire!

In my opinion the only visa one should get is the education or tourist visa.
This western countries should lock their borders. Watu wakae kwao.
This brain drain is hurting our society bigtimeSad
Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...

I think this sums it up
If you are
1. smart and driven.... go to the US
2. smart but not driven...stay in Kenya or go to Europe
3. not smart but driven...go to the US
4. not smart and not driven...go to Europe
This doesnt mean that there are no smart people in Europe or no driven people, it just means that the possibility of you enjoying that country are higher if you fall under certain parameters.

I hate to demonise a whole country based others experiences.
The US is not that bad if you have something going on for you.
Woe to the person who expects everything on a silver platter on landing there.
I have seen South Americans (lots of them in florida)sweat it out like Africans, to the extent of incorporating their entire families.
I guess they adapt fast, are humble enough to do whatever manual labour comes their way and within a short time they are flourish. They know what took them to the US.
We on the other hand spend the little cash earned partying and posting pics for family and friends back home 'wajionee'.

Funny enough today as I stepped out of a supermarket, I saw this lady (looking worn out and beaten by life)telling her friends that she had just come back from US after a 6 months stay.
When asked why she came back that soon, her answer was 'life was very tough, unbearable'.
I looked at her feet and saw wrinkles,so I though jeez that must have been tough indeed, but what the heck did you go to there without a plan?

I agree with you 100%

To those of you seeking Visas, the easiest Visa to get is a US Visa if you are confident and you kow what you are going to do in the US and you have no employment gaps. It is approved immediately after the interview sio mambo ya kungojea wiki mbili tatu nne. But to get the interview you must pay the fee of USD160 and if you get confused during the interview you are done.

Being a jungle society, you can mingle and hustle as long as you are not on the wrong side of the law. That is why so many people go and never come back. However, if you got no job utalala chini ya bridge in summer.

For me US is a NO NO NO (i visit on official business ONLY like i am doing this week in breckenridge, CO. After my official business i can do some skiing before the snow melts).

Kenya all the time.

Laughing out loudly True drama/roasting at the embassy.
And before the roasting you are warmly greeted.smile giving you some assurance.
Then few minutes after an intense interview unaskia 'am sorry sir/maam you haven't qulified for the visa, you can try next time.
Hapo ndio unatafuta Mutunga na microscope.
I rem giving a friend a tip on how to go about it after several tries and guess what? she got the visa pap!
Here is a tip to the runaways'smile.
You want to go to US? Show them that you really don't want to go! Show them your patriotism and how you have plans to invest in your country plus evidence.
Don't even attempt that ukora of asking a friend to boost your account balance overnight.
From 12k to 1.2 m.
And if you lied while filling info online don't even go for the interview.Just don't.
ok safe trip.

@Nabwire
where do you belong?

Create a category for those people like me who have been to Europe and US but there is a strong magnetic force pulling them back to Kenya.
