Just for further info .... The Kikuyu Alphabet:

There is no standalone D or J instead ND,NJ are used.
MB sounds like B in Bank
B sounds like F in Father.
(F and V do not exist,except in foreign words/names).
C sounds like S in Sokomjinga or SH in Shaft.
(CH,S,SH and Z do not exist,except in foreign words/names).
The letters L,Q,P and X also do not exist,hence R for L (or vice versa) in the most common pronunciation mistakes of 'Andû a Nyûmba'.
' î ' like ' a ' in Bait
' û ' like ' o ' in Boat
Other vowels just as they are pronounced in the vowel sequence a-e-i-o-u.
