Hey guys am pretty new to investing in stocks and it seems that this website has many knowledgeable investors. I am seeking to invest in shares for long term growth but am a bit concerned about the referendum should I invest now or wait until after 4 August to see how things go? What stocks would you advice me to buy? Big thanks smile

@kapi see here www.wazua.co.ke/forum.as...t=7444&p=9#post88506 for some very good literature on investing. What about the referendum? Might as well be worried of the 2012 elections, a third world war, end of the world, second coming of Jesus etc... Someone has said previously on this forum that 'you should have started investing like yesterday'.

Stocks 2 buy depend on many things ...r u out 4 the dividends or retailin the share....if divideds thn high yeild n progres co. Eg.EABL bt if its retailin check out 4 big gainers n high turnover...frm the refrence gvn u wil learn frm others xperience
Shillings dnt hv sex bt the multiply n divide dependin on their enviroment.

@ Sparkly ya I guess you are right but about the referendum just not sure about the political risk like what way the country might head into.
@ Mine looking for a mixture of dividend yielding stocks and long term growth but mainly long term growth in terms of capital gains
Thanks 4 the advice much appreciated

@dunkang - Britam at 15? Wow!!! At this rate I expect a movement through 10 & the results will be out this week. I expect they will be strong based on 1/2 year results, strong move in HFCK & Equity share prices.

I also transfered my brains from politricks to NSE today, and i could not believe my eyes.

Someone tell me, whats driving MPesa to above 6/-? Should i, should i not push the sell button?
