Things have changed with the market going south. Share's that were not bargains are now bargains. Shares that were bargains are now a steal. Can we compile a list of these bargains based on valuations and expected rebound level. Time to bring out the speculator in you.

@ a guy trying.there are a two scenarios here as we head into the election year:

1. Investors may start factoring in a peaceful election the way they did factor in a peaceful referendum and is will lead to a major rally. ( highly unlikly but possible).maybe a rally in January

2. Investors might just stay out completely and wait for the results of the elections.

either way the market will be pull of better bargains than now and those buying now i just donot see what you are seeing.....good days lie ahead and i will wait...

FOR me this year is gud as dead and for me i will just look to other places to make money...

i guess they chose senario 1... spot on

@S.Mutaga III;CFC Stanbic Holdings is a serious underperformer. With assets worth above ksh.140 billion and a profit of ksh.4.59 billion,
That is a waste of shareholders money.A price of ksh.100 not really possible.
Barclays with an assets worth ksh.186 billion is making a profit of ksh.13 billion and investors are complaining the bank is not maximising its potential.

ditto @techboy, CFC is now a chart play. riding the wave to where it goes and bolting out if it stagnates or turnsaround

Its very risky but its on speculative cut of portfolio. As @hisah and @techboy say, KES 70 is still a possible mark in the near term

Now that peace is prevailing and the future looks to be peaceful.

Stocks have rallied quite a bit. Are there any bargains to be had at current prices, for long term hold?

I remember telling you guys that the elections would be peaceful and had already been factored just based on the turnover which has been ridiculously high. Lol. Now is time to ask the market when The Good Lord is coming back !

I urge caution. The reaction of the International Community is telling.
Conventional thinkers waste time building shelters when they are unnecessary and then have no shelters when they need them the most. Socionomists do the opposite.

*Nervous* Do I sell or wait? [Except KK which I hoped would fall below 10 but there is a glimmer of hope it will go sub-10 after the FY 2012 results are released]
