power rationing will not solve the pakas problems if for any case it will worsen the situation and probably take the remaining life....reason,prolonged power supply cut-off will mean that the battery production will be significantly reduced leading to reduced revenues and profits. it is also likely that the cost of production will increase due to inadequate costly available electricity....aiiii the paka is cornered from all directions....God have mercy on the cat.

the people who run this and other companies should have a read at how general electric is run...

the ka-paka will have a good run now but he has run out his nine lives...

eveready thought their business was to make dry cells... a few years ago they thought about the torch...

my feeling is that they have not kept up with technology... there is a rechargeable lantern + torch being sold even by hawkers... that uses LED bulbs and some wierd form of energy storage as opposed to the tu-fickle bulbs and humoungous torches by the paka...

if these guys don't think global warming is any of their business... they will not last another 3 years in this energy and lighting biz...

that does not augur well for a stock...

infact in the short run the dividend might be above the cent... they run a smear campiagn against the dry cells used in the villages like my favourite 'tiger'.... using KEBS.... to use their ninth life...

@mtaalam,

That could be true that eabl may be a beneficiary,but only if they start rationing in the evening. I remeber kunyuaing all my savings in 2000-2001.

Very interesting that this power cuts are happening around the same time the Census is scheduled to begin.

Forward demographic data should (dis)prove the theory that power cuts or black-outs (even as little as 3 days) fuel or lead to a Baby Boom.

Forget financial incentives,while there are many variables,the Japanese should watch this closely!

Power rationing will affect Paka in two opposing ways:

Marginal increase in sales: Even though the rationing is scheduled to last up to 6:30pm,it will be difficult for KPLC to switch-on everybody at once. Thus delays of up to one hour should be expected....7:30pm. Thus some peope will use torches for lighting while waiting for KPLC power.
Huge increase in production costs: the cost of powering the factory by a generator is about five times that of using KPLC! This will be a major problem fo Paka.

Expect returns to go down....
