Interesting now no one on Wazua owns Kenol Kobil apart from me and @VVS and others...Overall the news came at the right time...its a Friday and by the time the market opens next week...it will be either in a foul or in a euphoric state because of the elections...I expect the FY results to be better than the interim report...I dont expect the stock to get a severe beating...downside from the current price is 15-20%.

Aguy, I honestly don't think it comes as too much of a shock. I think there were obvious signs. As someone said, Segman's silence was too loud. Plus the lack of progress on commercial disputes was very unnerving as well... youcan'tstopusnow wrote:This is the perfect time for Segman to release those FY12 numbers. Hakuna haja ya kungoja. Segman has lost steam! But from an industry point of view it would be a good stock to invest in, that's assuming it reaches the bottom. Stocks aside Puma's entry would have really upset the fuel market, and some of our daily bread! Timely advice is as lovely as golden apples in a silver basket. Proverbs 25:11

The market knew about the loss a long time ago. It will come as no shocker to anyone. People are actually looking forward to assessing H2 performance... GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

Hapana. They need to control that capitulation. Release after the sell shock of the deal cancellation. That way that capitulation will have struck selling exhaustion. KQ have done this very well and that's why the price is still above 10/-$15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

This deal must have been off long time ago. Segman was waiting for the right time to strike the news. 7- 8 bob here we come. Democracy does not belong to the dead

We all had the same piece of information and had freedom of choice. It doesn't hurt to say "I wish I had sold at 16, 15 or 14", because right now the stock is heading down towards your buying price! If you consider that good investment, well good on ya! L-TOWNS OWN SINCE '90

I have no regrets and I'm not bitter either...my only regret was not to buy a good amount at my buying price...if it gets there then well and good...

Honestly speaking... y r guys here venting it out on Segman??? U guys r making it sound like he's responsible for this deal backfiring and in someway owes u an apology!!! Newsflash... Segman owes u an iota of no apology (in my view) for the failure of this deal going thru. On the other hand (if it's anything 2 console u) what he does owe u is the performance & wellbeing of the underlying biz!!! On another note... SHUKA CHINI... KEKE... SHUKA CHINI!!! Do I own KK? Yeah ;-) ... and do I stress sana? No. [Unlike what I did on KQ when I saw a bleak future]. What I want though is a rapid & large drop in price... ;-) FY 2012 will be a loss-making year thanks to a horrible H1 & possibly a poor H2 (due to volatility in KES, oil prices and & remaining (unwound) forwards (KES & Oil)... I agree. Segman should release the 2012 results too. Let the market absorb all the news in one go! Segman: Yes, a bad year though he remains a shareholder (via options). What he needs to do is decisively attack the issues at hand including employee lawsuits, crush KPC & KPRL, kick Total in the nuts over the joint facilities. 2013: Profitable. 2014: KK back on sale. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett
