Who has tried this service - mainly the broadband/internet? Are the speeds good and the service reliable? What about Orange?

The problem with equality is that we desire that it be with those that have more than us rather that those that have less

am using yu edge for 3 bob per mb,not complaining, moderate speeds but not faster than safcom 3g only that there are no bundles to activate for yu,only plug and play.

Becoming number one is easier than remaining number one

I can now answer my question. So,self, having tried the service,it appears good and the math also looks good e.g. AK Kshs 45k pm for 64/128 Zuku Kshs 15k for IMB (1:4 contention ratio) - basically four times as fast at one third the cost.

So far so good. But I hear AK are about to lower their prices....

Good morning Djinn I quote you...

AK Kshs 45k pm for 64/128 Zuku Kshs 15k for IMB (1:4 contention ratio)

But Safcon sells 1MB @ 8 Shillings. Zuku clients buy the same at 15,000 shillings ? Not worth comparing with any other service at that rate !

@Zamali - I meant MBPS. I'd be seriously brain defective to pay Kshs 15,000 and not 8 bob don;t you think?

Zamali,

You need to get your facts straight... u dont seem to know what ur talkin abt...

But Safcon sells 1MB @ 8 Shillings. Zuku clients buy the same at 15,000 shillings ? Not worth comparing with any other service at that rate !

Safcom charges 8 bob for every MB (Megabyte) of data you transfer. So if u download an MB in 3 minutes,POOF,ur 8 bob is gone. If you download a GB in a month, that will cost u 8k on safcom.....

Hey @Gix,tis not about any facts,I was wondering about @ Djinn whether he was real about Zuku's 15K for 1 MB or it was some typo...

@ Djinn 1MBPS you mean ? For 15 K from Zuku ?

@Zamali 15k is the monthly free for UNLIMITED ACCESS (even 200,000,000 MB if you are a hyper surfer/downloader/you tuber/etc...) for a connection whose speed is 1 mbps (other speeds are 512kbps,256 kbps and 128 kbps) - but with the 1 mbps the bandwidth is shared so typically it SHOULD be 256 to 512.

So they do not charge per MB,rather a monthly fee with unlimited access during that period.

Having said that,I'm seriously re-thinking that colourful review of Zuku....
