Hi guys, has anyone noticed the increased number of Mazda Demios in our roads? I was wondering if anyone has ever driven this car and if they would care to enlighten us about it's performance, fuel consumption, comfort and other details. How fast can this car run without compromising stability and handling? How can it be ranked against its close competitors with the same engine size like toyota vitz?

thanks in advance

I owned it sometimes back....consumption not bad but i would prefer if you dont go mashinani with it. Too light you hit a pothole it swerves too much. Speed not bad but as usual in spare part you pay through ur noses

Thanks alot for the information. But would you still consider this car as underpowered? As per the durability, I hear that Mazda is well known for making small reliable cars so replacing parts will not be as often as when you own a Toyota

i went to zambia/zimbabwe a while ago and mazdas are very popular there. The kenyan craze with toyos is largely a perception.Doesnt mean there are no other good cars

I totally agree. Toyota is so busy trying to milk cash out of ignorant folks that they no longer care about safety, stability and class. What happened to the manufacture of rily crisp, durable and stable cars like Toyota 100?

We noticed long BEFORE you became a wazuan! See this RINK: http://www.wazua.co.ke/f...spx?g=posts&t=20363

We concluded that the popularity is all about the purchase price.

Few shops stock Mazda spares because few Mazda owners ever need spares! Apart from the usual consumables like oil and air filters, brake pads and spark plugs, you will drive a Mazda for 5 years and never change anything else!

That's why people say the parts are expensive... but you never need them anyway!

You know, we Kenyans like two things. No.1 we like showing off our little wealth, so rather than buy an old Toy 100, we buy a "new" used colt, cube, Note or the Mazda you mention. No.2, we like cheap things hence the Mazdas, Proboxes, BB etc. I suspect cars which are bought really new from the factory/dealers are less than 10% on Kenyan roads. The rest were imported as "new" used cars.
