If you use nakuru the ride is not very good from Total all the way to Kericho. There is road construction that been going for over two years. It will take you around 6 hours
Is this route smooth all the way to KSM, what is the condition of KSM-Busia? From Nairobi to Mai mahiu good road but a lots of traffic(Haulage lorries). The road also steep and with bends. Mai mahiu , Narok to Bomet, a very nice stretch with climbing lanes where necessary. Very tempting to do over 130 did 240km/h lucky for me i just sold the car but be ware of cops with speed guns. From bomet to kericho good road but too many bumps, too many invisible small bumps and Kericho to Kisumu road is good but under construction. Many slow moving tractors loaded with sugar can and many are driver without Indicator lights or head lights. ( Night driving not very okay) Still in a very bad state but they were patching the road. They last time i used the road there were craters. KSM-Busia patched all the way to Ugunja

Enjoyed the fish hapo kwa lake at those vibandas kwa lake down oginga street as I had my car washed in the lake. Was surprised that fish is more expensive than in Nairobi, but expertly made. Also spent some evenings at Club Sunspot in Kondele boozing with the locals. Was amazed that all businesses have a giant portrait of OAR and a very tiny one of kibaki. Also made a few 'local landings' (heavily parachuted of course) and was quite impressed by the quality and enthusiasm of the local talent aka airports.

A man's got to do what a man got to do. It's all in the male genes.
