Damn is this for real?Any Craft Silicon insider?Though not perfect, I think this was one of the best software firms in Kenya. It is sad that such a company can relocate due to unfavorable operating environment while we are talking about Konza.

Not necessarily.Konza might attract solar and other green energy initiatives.

Solar doesn't make economic sense!

Kenya's clean energy resources are wind and geothermal.

Maybe some one will set up a solar panel manufacturing plant in Konza, but the plant will be powered by conventional electricity...from KenGen

I see a lot of rugs to riches in Konza city. The president can't be appealing to locals to invest with no good reason.Yesterday people made money and all through the day the city is finished, people will make money. Starting my planning now.
Uncertainty is certain.Let go

Zoning around Konza City is on course. This is what is proposed and may be subject to change. There is already a notice that no construction should be done within the 10km buffer until one obtains approval

There are 6 proposed zones A to F around the city.

Zone A: ECO-TOURISM its to the West of the City and crosses over to Kapiti plains and Olekejuado (kajiado north)

Zone B: SUSTAINED URBANIZATION its opposite the city Konza Ranch that was subdivided last year. As of now they are commercial plots 2Acres in Size

Zone C: MODERN AGRICULTURAL borders B to the east.

Zone D: SUSTAINABLE COMMERCE ZONE: this is where Aimi ma Kilungu / Malili township is these are small commercial plots subdivided when gova was buying the land

Zone E: MODERN AGRICULTURAL ZONE area south of malili township all the way to Konza town

Zone F: TRANSPORT HUB current konza town railways station area.

There is some info doing the rounds that:
New Akamba Unity Sacco, whose address is, Gatkim Complex 3rd Floor Nairobi is selling plot around Konza near Lukenya Area.
Is there anybody who can confirm this information.

Does this render the project null and void?

What did you say? This cases has been in the public for a while infact in 2010/11 these directors were in court. They just need to be clear on who ate other peoples money thats all.

By the way, if Kenya still wants to host an ICT park they'll have to spend more money again looking for would be investors. Money waits for no one.

For those who dont understand how cities can come up out of nowhere, here are some photos of one tech city which is less than 10 years still under development. You dont have to have a river this is the technology age water can be pumped. And dams can be dug.

Highway

At the far end is a hotel and a tech firm next to it

A complex underconstruction

Shopping center as you'd call it in Kenya

Apartments

There are banks hotels and other forms of businesses including hospitals

Notice hakuna ma wire za stima, they underground together with the fiber optic cables and phone lines. Am sorry for posting humongous pics .

Insofar as being null and void, I dont think so.

That is not to say the project will take off or not, as initial conceived.
That will be determined on the merits and demerits of its viability in the eyes of Govt honchos in control
So, if it doesnt, it will be due to entirely different reasons.
