My research shows me that here in campus, students spend most of their money especially HELB on beer...I am therefore considering starting a wines and spirits shop near campus...how much is the liquor license and is it possible to use someone else's at a fee paid out to them?...kindly help...

I happened to travel somewhere where most retail shops sell alcohol.
Normally there r about btwn 3-6 jamaas on wooden stools at various times taking their preffered drinks or others do take away.
Some drinkers in these places started drinking soon after they stopped breastfeeding and r there not prone to loosing network due to liqour, in otherwords the chances of them making too much noise as to attract the "local Mututho" r exceptional.
For your case, How long does HELB last, and how many times in a year will pple be having it? I will estimate btwn 3-4 times a year when different students start their academic years, and these times last not more than 3 weeks. Offcourse your prospective customers will still want a shot of a drink or several every once in a while but for serious partying they will go out.
Outsiders r likely to avoid the place due to cases of indiscipline.
In your position I would consider a hybrid, Shop, targeting the general public (hence located strategically)and selling hard stuff on mostly take away basis. Maybe once you get the idea about cost of liqour licence you will evaluate accordingly.
Nb: The other challenge u may need to consider is your popularity during riots.

Am wishing you well, nonetheless it is also important to note that, most pub owners end up being drunkards (or what we used to call DDO), Liquor business is not adviseable to young people especially if you are below 40 yrs.
....He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..
