Never thought of it like that. They should just show the bottom scores not student names.
Uncertainty is certain.Let go

To reward the top performers, and entrench the psychology of the education system.

If this is true its sad. It will contribute data to the most often used mode of child suicideSad And promote the mentality of 'I'm better than you'

PLEASE DON'T DO THAT!
YOU WILL DRIVE THESE KIDS TO SUICIDE!
THAT IS THE WORST ANY EXAM COUNCIL CAN DO TO WEAK KIDS! WHERE IS THE HEART?
LET THEM BE! THEY HAVE ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH ALREADY,DO NOT RUB SALT TO INJURY BY MAKING IT A NATION WIDE THING.
REASON LIKE PARENTS! NOT ADMINITRATORS.

Sorry I just had to scream, how quick we forget.

Two girls have committed suicide in separate incidents after receiving their KCPE exam results.

The two girls, Sylvia Wanjiku from Kathiani Constituency and Mercy Chebet from Kericho County, both aged 14 years, claimed they had performed poorly in the national exams.

Sylvia Wanjiku who scored 303 marks left a suicide note to her mother which read "Dear mum, I have let you down in this world without scoring 400 marks."
“She was in low spirits after checking her results,” he said.
Relatives and neighbours said Mercy Chebet—who was a candidate at Ketitui Primary School—hanged herself after realising that she had scored 145 marks out of 500.
Telanet Location Chief John Too called on parents to counsel their children who performed dismally to avert such incidents.

Quote:
A headteacher committed suicide and scores of others were roughed up by irate parents protesting against poor results in last year’s KCPE examination.-One school head was badly injured, another was dragged out of his office and warned never to set foot in the school.

Six others were locked out of their offices by angry parents as the new school term started.
In a number of schools across the country, headteachers just went into hiding, fearing attacks from parents after their schools performed poorly, raising serious questions about the safety of teachers and school administrators.

Let us be civilised in how we handle these things.
"The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.

the knec guys use ranking to stay relevant - kcpe should be abolished and in place a continuous assessment system should be adapted, with a goal of absorbing as many kids as possible into high school which should be day schools.
