How short is short and you will measure whether it is short or not?

They should consult Mutula on this. He is the local expert and I believe a member of the society. Why should lawyers dress like nuns?

Selective information. The rules do not apply all week, they apply to those in court but the big lawyers shun going to court because of minimal returns and to some, they say they cannot sit on wooden benches. They engage mainly in conveyancing, arbitration, legal advisors on mergers and acquisitions etc.

20. Trouser suits may be worn by female advocates and they must be full suits, blazers and jackets must be long and must fall well below the hips to ensure modesty.

A colleague tells me that the lady lawyers put on short skirts on purpose. That male judges ''love'' seeing the upper leg hence suddenly become friendly in their verdict.LSK has this as one of the complaints lodged from its members

I doubt any judge with half a brain will allow a verdict to be influenced by something like admiration of a short skirt. Verdicts are written, form precedents, usually get appealed and more importantly, get reviewed. Riaga Amolo was declared unfit becausenof dubious rulings. A successful appeal reflects badly on the lower judge, as reprimands on Ang'awa by the Court of Appeal benches show. Perhaps such things allow them to bend court proedures to a leniency that probably isnt possible if it was an old maid in a dull frock arguing a case. Affecting the fundamentals? Highly doubt.

What if you are working in a sweltering court with no air conditioning at the coast, say msa, lamu or malindi? Lawyers will be sweating buckets here.
