Jana usiku there was a guy beating the living daylights out of the wife/girlfriend. the screaming from the lady had gone on for like half an hour before the neighbors sought to find out what was going on. we knocked his door hard and the guy ignored while still beating the poor girl. eventually we broke a window pane and we finally could see the idiot. imagine a mid 30s man with a tattoo beating a woman senseless!!! i expected it to be some old senile fool. anyway, my concern is it took people more than 30 minutes to intervene yet everyone could hear the screams. has society sunk that low that you don't care nini inaendelea kwa jirani?Pray

Wouldn't be wise intervening in every domestic dispute lest both husband and wife turn against you.
Previously when society was more reasonable and we never had cases like experience lately ( Killings by spouse or serious body harm) neighbours never used to intervene at all since most cases were just matters of correcting each other.
In my locality there is a famous story of a man who wanted to correct the wife and wife was resisting by running.
Being at night wife had a torch and husband didn't so every time the wife jumped over a ditch she would look back shine the torch at the ditch so husband didn't break his leg or fall. Once she was sure he had jumped over the ditch safely she would continue running with husband in hot pursuit.
In other words she still cared for him despite the differences they may have had.
