KQ drops commercial director - http://www.theeastafrica.../-/111ib40/-/index.html

End of current fiscal year is 31st March 2013. Ulcers inducing results expected. And I hope KE holds peaceful elections otherwise KQ will start Q1 2013 on more losses pile as flights get cancelled due to travel advisories Sad

Surely one needs balls of steel to bet on this counter without breaking a sweat...

I'm curious, what is so special about this Naikuni character? Why can't they sack him?

What makes it Naikunis fault? The industry is in a turmoil.

Kenya Airways will continue with its plan to buy Boeing Dreamliners despite the aircraft having faced safety scares in US and Japan.

He may/may not be part of the problem but has been there for far too long.

Zero ownership. When you have a significant owner (like Pradeep Paunrana of ARM, James Mwangi of Equity & Bharat Thakrar of Scangroup) who looks for other ways of financing without a Rights Issue that dilutes existing shareholders.

ARM - Convertible Debenture at a significant premium to the then price
ScanGroup - Sale of shares at a premium to WPP which also gained connections & skills
Equity - The Helios deal at the then market price but at a premium to Book Value

KENYA Airways is set to open up a new route with the launch of flights to Abu Dhabi the capital of United Arab Emirates, from July 1.

KQ will fly three times to Abu Dhabi further solidifying its presence in UAE where it currently flies 10 times weekly to Dubai. In its quest to improve its operations within Middle East, KQ recently signed a code share agreement with UAE's national carrier Etihad Airways.
