You read right.. a cactus.

Check out this poll: 1 In 5 Americans Believe Obama Is A Cactus

Sad

the onion is a parody news outlet

I know.
You should say that to @josiah33 up here, he seems genuinely concerned.

Am not concerned, just surprised if at all it's true that White House had to deny this one too. In any case some americans really think Obama is a cactus that sucks the life out of them the same way a real cactus in the desert sucks water from the desert soil.

What really surprises me is why the White House would even see the need to deny Obama is a cactus and state categorically that he is human just the same way they deny he went to mars.

Because it is the United States of America. The land where "what if?" is not met with "crap" or "Urongo" or posted in the "parody" sections of the media BUT met with "WHY NOT?".

Ponder that.

Seems like the White House has got alot of denying to do-

Quote:
Two petitions on We The People, the White House's experiment in crowdsourced petitioning and public opinion {Any petition that gains at least 25,000 signatures will be passed along to a top policymaker for a response} asked the White House to "formally acknowledge an extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race" and to "immediately disclose the government's knowledge of and communications with extraterrestrial beings."

This is the White House response:

Quote:
The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race. In addition, there is no credible information to suggest that any evidence is being hidden from the public's eye.

The most interesting thing is this-
Quote:
The combined signatures don't add up to 25,000, so it's odd the White House would respond to this petition instead of others on the platform.

The number of signatures have since been raised to 100,000.

Nobody knows exactly what is happening at any moment, so anything could be true.

But to be, it seems one must embrace a view, and prove all the others false.

With the spread of the internet, governments will not be able to uphold any world view exclusively.

But on a positive note, such response by the US Govt to outlandish petitions asking it to clear the air about alien invasion might not be foolish afterall-

Quote:
Pro: Despite the seemingly outlandish petition, the White House responded with a respectful and fairly lengthy response penned by Phil Larson, who works in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. In it, Larson says that while aliens aren't on Earth, "that doesn't mean the subject of life outside our planet isn't being discussed or explored. In fact, there are a number of projects working toward the goal of understanding if life can or does exist off Earth." He lists three programs — SETI, the Kepler spacecraft and the Mars Science Laboratory — as examples of the search for life on other planets.

Of course yes. And that's if u mean the american first couple. But if it's the kenyan one, i can't answer that coz i don't know and even if i knew it would be too dangerous to talk about it here.
