The spirit of xmass is great, and many true xtians have tried to put things straight but concerning this date wameshindwa. but it is still better to know the truth:

"Here are the facts: Jesus wasn't born on Dec. 25. Christ's apostles rejected pagan ceremonies and rituals in their worship and told other Christians to likewise avoid them. The early Church didn't observe Jesus' birthday. The selection of Dec. 25 as Christ's supposed date of birth was based on the dates of the Roman Saturnalia and Brumalia—a time for worshipping the god Saturn.

Most Christmas customs—decorating the evergreen tree, use of mistletoe, exchanging of gifts, Santa Claus—come not from the Bible but from ancient pagan religions. For centuries Christianity tried unsuccessfully to rid itself of the paganism of Christmas. Throughout its history Christmas has inspired drunken parties, and the modern holiday is more about convincing children to harass their parents to buy toys than worshipping Christ.

What is your verdict? Some say, "But we can't take Christmas away from the children." Others: "As long as it brings people to Jesus, what does it matter?"

Man , forget about religion. It's a myth which you don't have a single evidence it's real

The only evidence for the reality of a myth, is the mythologizer, who brings the myth into being.

Thus the reality of the myth is the Man God; and I am. This is the corner stone of faith. The cornerstone of the temple. I am the temple.

And so Christmas is a day that can only be celebrated in the union and identy of body and spirit.

And the more I seek this union, the more I see only love can achieve it. And God is love.

So during Christmas is the Man God celebrated!

Ah! I have truly enjoyed this day!

Xmas has nothing to do with the Lord Jesus Christ. Its a celebration of materialism, selfishness and carousel. Thats why they always wish people a "Merry Xmas".

Christmas on the other hand is a commemoration of the Gift of God giving His most Precious to those He loves. Christmas therefore should not be merry as they put it but it should be punctuated with "joy", "gladness", "love" and "service".

Are sure yours is not that common misconception that the X in X-mas is an attempt to remove christ from christmas?

@Josiah33 You're right. @kollabo consider this... 'Xmas' IS popularly associated with a trend towards materialism, but the history of the word “Xmas” is actually more respectable — and fascinating — than most might suspect.

First of all, the abbreviation predates by centuries its use in gaudy advertisements. It was first used in the mid 1500s.

X is the Greek letter “chi,” the initial letter in the word Χριστός. And here’s the kicker: Χριστός means “Christ.” X has been an acceptable representation of the word “Christ” for hundreds of years. This device is known as a Christogram.

The “mas” in Xmas is the Old English word for “mass.”

In the same vein, the dignified term “Xtian” has been used in place of the word “Christian.”

Wishing everyone here in Wazua a Very Merry and Blessed X-Mas! Christ still is (and always will be) at the center of it all.
