That is shallow thinking. Success is a very broad term. But I take it that you mean financial success.
Gauge your own success by benchmarking yourself against your own potential... stretch yourself to the limit of course...you will realize that you achieve much more than you would when comparing yourself with the Jones'. Set your own goals and work toward them. But for goodness sake don't buy your first car then start to seek membership at Muthaiga Golf Club!
And this is the kind of linear thinking that is leading young people today to take a loan and buy a Range Rover 4.6 then proceed to park it outside a rented furnished KES 60K apartment. Once the guy suddenly loses his job,he's flung all the way to Mbotela Estate from Kileleshwa (no offence to Mbotela residents
