wats the process after one hits/knocks someone with a car?
The guy sustains a bruise in the head, hand and leg. He has been treated and doing well/very stable.

No need of wasting money on lawyers. Just walk to the nearest police station and book yourself to start the jail sentence. Things are elephant!

yaani the issue was never reported to the police, if it was, the process would have started - if the matter was not reported then I don't see any process

Report the accident to the police as soon as practicable after the fact. Report also to your insurer

Once you make the reports, that's it. The process will take it's own course. If the victim wants compensation, he'll sue you and you will hand the over the court summons to your insurer.... and wait....

If the police want to charge you with a traffic offence, they will give the ticket and again you will give it to your insurer... and again wait...

The whole thing is simple really. Nothing to break sweat over... unless you never made the reports, in which case it can get very complicated. Worst case: you get jailed and lose your car in settlement for the civil claim from the victim
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
