@7.5% per month, Safcom has now officially entered the shylock business.

Applause Exactly! This product will hurt shylocks and credit cards not mainstream banks' and MFI's loan products.

Shame on you Shame on you Shame on you i beg 2 differ. No lender will b affected by uptake of tis product. Borrowers of small amts r always lukin 4 other additional sources of small monies.
Tis one borrower wil first go to th bank 4 a salary advance/ uncleared effect, then go to his shylock where he leaves collateral, and eventually borrows frm m-shwari.
Th funds borrowed frm m-shwari r nt secred n so mteja wil 1st clear wit other lenders b4 he thinks of m-shwari. Repayments will then b in arrears eventually 2 defaults

"if you fail to pay the loan within 30 days, the loan repayment period will be extended for an additional 30 days and you will be charged an additional 7.5 percent facilitation fee on your outstanding balance."

hmmmmm

Account is closed, >> any amounts remaining in mshari account is used to pay off the loan, >> CBA makes provision for the remaining bad loan, >>> account is handed to CRB, >> pursuit of defaulter proceeds

No need to freak over defaults. Most people (and all Wanjiku) qualify for a KES 0.00 loan in mswari

Well wanjiku could take KES 0/- loan from mswairi but application fee will be deducted from her mbesha, and will be lumped with loan attracting 7% a week, sooner or later CRB will come to auction her mbogas and mulika mwizi fone. But Nyayo era defaulters will continue to roam around Nairobi with billions in defaults.

I don't get what you are trying to say. If Wanjiku took Ksh.0 loan, how are deductions on her Mpesa account coming in.

Update menu again. Some handsets e.g. BlackBerry have such problem.

Try several times instead of severally. Sometimes technology works that way.
