It would be interesting to see if the foreigners aka "The London boys" will remain in the vuy side in the remaining 3months to elections.
If they do, and the political climate remains stable, then 5 might be our new base. Also hoping the Mshwari isnt another Mkesho!

The average kenyan who bought at IPO cashed out one year after listing.I am double sure there are very few wanjikus who bought at IPO still have their shares. Those that do are the wealthy who bought and forgot about them.I have a neighbour who bought 1 million shares and never sold.

I am a strong believer in safcom fundamentals but i dont believe that this stock can rise above 6/- and stay there. This am convinced becoz of the HUGE number of shareholders (Note: not shares but shareholders) most with less than 20,000 shares. This investors take profits after every 20cts price rise and panic sell to any news or rumour without research on effects of the news item (enriching brokers than themselves in the long run).

(Be informed: Safcom is 48pc of my portfolio and my average buy price is 3.162/-.)

VWAP @5/- Large volume day with 76M shares traded with a turnover of 383M. Foreign trade turnover ended net buy (374M vs 321M). This week will confirm if accumulation trade or distribution trade will win. If a win 5/- handle will be defended.

Week closes with 5/- handle defended in a week that mpesa bank saw heavy volume as well as the previous week.

EABL too looks poised to smash past 300/- in coming weeks as accumulation gains momentum.

I own only 6000 shares of which i 2000 at 2.80. I don't panic sell though if Safcom exists 10 yrs from now and is worth my average price or a shilling more I'll still hold on ...let inflation do its job and all shares will add face value, even if not real value

Interesting facts about the KE digital age brought about by mobile phone - http://blogs.worldbank.o...frontier-of-development

Quote:
This year, they used cellphone-enabled tablets to collect data on food security and market prices. Such high frequency, real-time data has never been available before. It is already revolutionizing how policy makers can identify problems and bring timely solutions. As Marcelo Giugale of the World Bank puts it: High-frequency data has the potential to do “to economics what genetics did to medicine”.

Third, the explosion in mobile phone and internet
leaves behind ‘digital traces’ of human behavior
which can help to better understand development challenges. For example, recent research by Harvard scientists using Kenya data, published in Science last month, shows how mobile phone data (tracking people’s movements) can be used to trace the spread of malaria. By conducting such monitoring in real-time, officials could for example send text message warnings to people travelling in
high-risk areas and pre-position testing equipment and drugs. There are many other examples of such use of ‘big
data’ for economic, social and policy purposes.
Google has demonstrated how search data can predict dengue breakouts in Brazil, India and Indonesia by monitoring how people search for
dengue-related topics and symptoms. In
Indonesia, the UN Global Pulse and a research firm used Twitter data to monitor food prices with surprising accuracy, finding that the way people spoke about rice on Twitter could be correlated
with the actual market price of rice. As internet use in Africa, large amounts of digital traces
will be available and useful for monitoring and
tackling social problems also here.
