Now you know what @bartum mean't. Wanjiku invests on hunches, raw emotion and hot tips from friends, family and wazua.
A real investor would look at the stocks' history and present perfomance.
He/she will consider the general level of the stocks cycle ie boom and bust/ bull and bear.
The winning strategy is to buy stocks of companies that have been and are performing well during a bear market (PEs typically <8 , price<book values and DYs >10%)hold out and sell when the market is fully priced.
