Its taken me a while to write about this but its got to be done... The traffic in Mombasa is horrendous.
The truth is that its almost all because of lack of discipline on our raods but changamwe jomvu are an exception.
If you are travelling to Moi airport to get a flight beware ... everyday at any time changawe hill may delay you so best plan an hour to cross this 2 km stretch ... if its saturday afternoon traffic is silly all over mombasa , no idea why.
Jomvu i pity all those working out on the highway spending 4 -5- 6 hrs getting home, the contractor and his cohorts in whatever or whoevers pockets he is lining are doing a splendid job of frustrating transporters , toursists on route to safari and general commuters ...hats off to being the poster child for how not to do things.
What sort of revenues are being lost in wasted man hours and diesel on this stretch has anyone bothered or thought of calculating ?

Kibarani?
The problem is mainly with trucks. Has the construction of Dongo Kundu bypass started?

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.

Dongo Kundu initial plans were scrapped , from what i hear plan 3 is on the table , is the shift for reasons of enriching some who own or plan to own land in the areas where the bypass will go through ... sijuii... Dongo Kundu will not solve the problem ... the best idea is an underpass though changamwe hill out to the highway for outbound trucks , a by pass just from the begining of the causeway to the airport and truck holding pens outgoing and incomming between 0630AM --0900 AM and 1630PM --- 1900hrs ...the que at the kipevu port gates needs a look into as well

Seen it. The residents claim that the kayas are on the road-map of the project and they should be preserved. So the project has stalled.
Dongo Kundu was aimed at ensuring tourists from South coast do not miss their flight or no flight's delayed because of the traffic jam in Kibarani and the ferries too.The queue at Kipevu was to be solved by expanding the Port upto Portreitz.
If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.

Expand the port to port rietz how , who will clean up that whole mess that is called chahani ... Apparently changamwe was supposed to be the muthaiga of Mombasa , its definitely not more like kariokor... It's frustrating when you enter Mombasa and your welcomed by filth traffic , pollution ...it is embarrassing...I must applaud mr kangugo moi airport manager, who created a bougan villa fence all along the airport road ... This is now only visible in the airports grounds...thanks to vandals , a rotten council and trucks all the bougan villia has been uprooted and destroyed.

The kayas are beautiful and respect must be given...but a solution is needed soon ...December is round the corner and the ferry and airport are a nightmare. The kaloleni road which would serve as a short cut to Malindi is stalled ...so is the voi taveta road , but not to go on a tangent...if the samburu kwale road would be repaired at least this could help...

Our new ferries are pretty rubbish you should see how busses , min coaches and trucks get damaged crossing this...apparently the factory that made them shut down...stench of corruption , if you ask me...
