I am dismayed that most of our attention and thought is not directed at Wanjiku. Yet look at how she lives!

Or rather, why are we engaging in politics?

Is it because we are connected to a certain politician, and by championing by his cause we'll have more cash in our accounts?

Shall we also say, ' . . . and also Wanjiku's account'.

Is this the end of politics? Is this what nationalism is about?

Surely, if this is the case, then we have already converted to cannibalism, and we are headed for destruction.

Why is it so difficult for us to see this? I think it is because we have been nurtured in a selfish ethic, and pseudo science has propped this nefarious agenda by saying that selfishness is in the gene. This cannot be true. Man has the power to choose. Man is capable of creating a body politic that has freedom and all that comes with it.

Nay, man must believe that freedom, peace, and progress are not only true, but also attainable.

Progress, cannot be evaluated from a materialistic perspective. Progress can only be a spiritual evaluation.

Thus politics is also spiritual business.

The poor and the oppressed don't need good policies, they only need to have their voice heard. They only need to be encouraged to speak, and they will never be poor and oppressed.

Of course I will be lying to say that politics is only about the oppressed finding freedom, for it is also about the free enjoying their freedom.

So politics is the human endeavour to find and enjoy freedom, and this freedom can only be found through conversation between one another and between man and God.

This demands love and courage from every one, and each word, each action is executed with the conviction that we all share one identity.

Is it so difficult to comprehend that the parliamentarians AND NOT the citizens voted to have these cases sent to the Hague at their own volition? Some of those suspects are on public record saying that they chose to have the cases handled at the Hague? so why is it then a surprise that the cases ended up in the Hague and now we want to bring down the entire country to "bring" back the cases to home courts?

@Eboomerang,
I think you should not just yap without facts.

1) The constitution amendment bill of 12th February 2009 to establish a local tribunal for PEV required 145 MPs to pass.

Only 101 supported the bill and 93 rejected it.

Uhuru and Ruto were among those who supported this bill. Others included Kibaki and Raila. But they still could not get the 145 votes required.

2) Most of those MPs that voted against this bill actually thought that ICC was purely a justice court (all rulings are based on real and proved evidence like other courts of law) and not a political court as it has turned out to be.... reading from their utterances. They opposed the local tribunal because they thought then that it will result in a lot of witch hunting and justice would not be delivered.

You would only make sense if those 101 votes were not cast by MPs and when you try to explain that "they thought that ICC was a purely justice court" it only reinforces what I indicated earlier that these people can hardly engage their minds when making decisions and therefore they should not burden the entire nation for their recklessness.

As far as I know, the union between politics and ICC was a creation of politicians as an aftermath of realizing this was serious and beyond their control.

For how long are we going to have leaders who perpetually tend to "thought" in ways that jeopardize the country?

Let your mind be liberated man!!
