My wife wants to quit her....job

Is it the job? What happened at the office?

She bases her argument to leave the job on the children but that could be just an excuse.

Ponder that.

If financially ok its a brilliant idea. The stress of house girls especially when it comes to your kids safety is not worth it.

Thanks guys, it seems the 'nay sayers' wamenyamazishwa and the 'Aye's' are talking from experience rather than hearsay. This has been very helpfull.

It is the best decision ever. Especially as it is coming from her.
A mother being the first influence for her children is the best thing.
Support her in it.
....above all, to stand.

@tom_boy, Ignore @impunity at your own peril. That's a reality. It will be an all weather landing, you better be prepared lest,,,,,.

The wife leaving her job is a great idea, you will have peaceful rewarding evenings devoid of her letting out stress za job.
Discuss with her how life will be like when she leaves her job,the good, the bad and all the in-betweens. It would be a disaster if three months after quitting, she starts whining about boredom or limited finances.

Just keep talking.

@tom _ boy...unlike the others, I would advise she keeps her job unless she is not coping or its stressful. Why? Whereas she would be able to model the children, the work at home is quite a lot, men sometimes don't understand this- one or two days down the line she will say she is always tired. A gloomy face in the evening, and you will be forced to chip in, not a very good thing when you are a busy guyor you are in a demanding job. so you might be forced to have a yaya to compliment to assist. Quite a number of children are brought up by Yaya that is a fact, just get a good one. In short, unless she wants to venture in a business anything else its a no no for me.

Hi Dunk.. I thought you were single and afraid of getting married.

Wewe. Am a family man with a 20 months old daughter. Asiiii.

From an economic point of view, its better she make her own money, personally am tired of her end of month nagging.

Here is the story of a friend of mine who lives in Athi River. Wife earns 20K. when they calculated the transport, lunch and salary ya nanny they figured out that it balances or even goes above 20K then they did a cost benefit analysis focussed on the kids: the risk of nannies abusing kids, nannies being a headache and having to keep changing them (issues za househelp bureaus) and above all nothing beats having mum raise the kids. so wife quit jobo and they lived happily ever after
