@ mtu biz

I understand that consistency is really crucial. Where I live,you can get a 2M at 40 bob whether there is a jam,rain,fuel goes up or down ... and all the other excuses they give. But when it is off peak,I will take a mat for 20 bob and when peak I will take for 40 bob thus I think it is better to take the smart ones at peak and the other ones off peak.

I understand nowadays there is a new meaning for off peak esp. for matatus on Thika,Ngong and Langata Road. Peak means any time there are more than ten people on a stage.... That's why we all really need these Smart Buses

When we pray in praise to God,he makes a difference in our lives.

As i said on a previous post,this is a great idea whose time has come sort some of the mess on our public transport. The issue of cards being identical should be solved by treating those cards as legal tender. The growth of the smart buses' coverage will also enable fare 'portability' when transferring from one bus to another to get to your destination. The saving and convenience will be enormous. The faster commuters embrace this idea,the better for everyone but the damn traffic cop n mungiki.

@Jay R

The traffic cop wont harvest much on this one. remember the 'black box'? the conductor doesnt handle the money either. The mungiki wont like it much but because this venture has high powered fellas behind it,the crack down by GSU's at the bus-stops wont let mungiki interfere with the buses. just the same way they can not eliminate the citi hoppas. And even if they stopped the busses from using the designated bus-stop,the buses can be allocated another place to operate from and as long as they have commutor's backing them,it should work. I understand the matatus in some routes where these buses operate have reduced their fare charges by as much as 30%.

Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

Yep. Mungiki will not take this lying down. A few petrol bombs and a handfull of swift moving youths employing suprise attacks... Burning buses.....panic.... Even GSU will be shooting at their own shadows.....

I paid 50 bob from kitengela to town using the bus. Previously,u would part with atleast 80 bob offpeak en 100 bob peak using matatus. Smartbus,the way to go! I jus hope they maintain the gud customer service...
