Thika Road opened by Kibaki.
I am disappointed with the general drainage design and implementation. If you want a road to last, have good drainage.
Sections that are usually flooded:
- Museum Hill/Ojijo Road intersection (A pal was mugged there when his car stalled in the water at 8.30pm)
- Forest road next to the shell Petrol station, near that temple.
- Murang'a road as you approach Koja junction, big flood right there
The drainage trenches are there, but there are limited ways for the water to move from the road to the drainage way. The 90-degrees small pipes dont help. Mainly a problem in sections built by China Wu yi.
The pedestrian bridges are far from completion, the bumps still exist. Even where they were removed, the section still looks like it has bumps, has not been smoothened.
Dont get me wrong, I do appreciate the phenomenon that is Thika Road. But we need to get rid of these small things to improve the user experience.
