Me thinks 50-100bps and at worst nothing. The C/A position is ugly and election related expenditure needs to be nipped in the bud early. The currency is very creaky as we speak and it will get creakier!!!

Inflation has bottomed imho so the chance to go 10% has been missed. Ksh strength is being maintained by borrowing USD from IMF our kindhearted bank. 100bps, 200bps would be unlikely. Sehemu ndio nyumba

400bps? The GoK shouldn't borrow much more domestically. Stimulate the economy & collect more taxes. Let CBK manage liquidity via aggressive OMO. Hehe..let's see.

CBR lowered to 11%, tbill 91day last auction - 10.24%, NSE20 above 4100pts, USDKES steady at 85s, latest inflation @4.14% CBR and inflation - downwards, tbills upwards, NSE bullish, USDKES steady, GoK C/A still wide. Very mixed signals. Money markets up, equities up - I guess this is a KE trend, very peculiar $15/barrel oil... The commodities lehman moment arrives as well as Sovereign debt volcano!

From the MPC statement oil/fuel prices appear the remaining thorn in the inflation flesh.

Cheap energy benefits everyone. The global econ is in a slump, who needs expensive energy now? How does it help? Irrational oil markets!
