I expected a loss, and factoring layoff costs, 1b. They have exceeded my expectations by far. They just lost all the money they made for last 10 years.

All these losses companies are making (kq, total, kk, marshals, cmc...), and the counters are still bullish, what is it am missing? How long will these struggling companies take.to reverse the losses?

When the company files for bankruptcy in a few years is when most will realise, this is not a good company at this moment

There could be alot of worry about collapsing if the gvt was not a major share holder.

Here's my humble advice... Don't mess with airline stocks!! bankruptcy is always the end result

Really....no...i dont think KQ is doing that badly. Its not a one size fits all scenario in the industry. look at Emirates and Etihad. Focus is key and knowing the market and I think KQ has that right.

@murchr do you notice how the airlines you have mentioned are few and are mainly from oil producing countries??

In the long run higher oil prices, higher competition, and huge huge debt burdens always lead airlines to losses and bankruptcies!!

Why invest in a sector where the odds are greatly stacked against you??

WAH - KQ will kill guys. Though i have never trusted airlines; capital intensive, oil prices, FX, politics over routes! not my game

Any/Everyone could have predicted that KQ ould not do well. I must agree that the loss was huge, more than I expected but its not a loss that cant be recovered. So my view still stands, bankruptcy is not for KQ

KQ has big bro GoK. So bankruptcy is not an option. Add IFC into the mix, bankruptcy becomes very unlikely...

The only thing that GOK can protect against is liquidation! But when it comes to bankruptcy not even GOK can save KQ..

I hope @murchr et al. can see that 8 years worth of retained earnings have been wiped of the balance sheet... How they will recover that only God knows!
