This is a query to all IT gurus in wazua. I was formatting my computer which runs on black XP. It reached a point where some files could not be copied...i was halfway. Should I run automatic system recovery by pressing f2 or what step should I take?

how were you formatting your drive at the same time copying files ?

If you had formatted the drive then, even system recovery won't help - if you had not formatted the drive - just reboot

during formatting, the computer indicates that it is copying system files...that is when after copying 98% of the files on the blue screen, it encounters errors

Two things you can try:

1. Check the CD/DVD for errors on another machine. Right click on the drive where the CD is, click PROPERTIES, under TOOLS you'll find ERROR CHECKING.

2. When installing Black XP (hope you got it from a very verytrustworthy source), format the target drive completely (not the quick option).

Good luck.

i have followed your advice and followed ntfs(not quick format) and am through with formatting. However, another problem has come up,when installing windows,it indicates cyclic redundancy...

@ Mutaga, the cyclic redundancy error message could mean that some parts of your XP disk cannot be read. Try coping the files to a new cd-sometimes this solves the issue. Otherwise tafuta another installation disk. Good luck.
