1. Its a bull market,
2. We need something to excite the market further (I think it has been a dull trading year).
3. Interest rates are still up so borrowing is not so attractive.

Am I alone in this or have companies just missed a golden opportunity? Sad

Where is the optimism that was there a few years ago? When companies had aggressive expansion plans?

What are you talking about? Rights issues recently DTB, NIC, CFC, KQ, SCB. Debt instruments HF, Centum, EABL. New listings Longhorn, CIC, BRITAM. Mergers and acquisitions KK, TPS ...
Life is short. Live passionately.

Welcome to Wazua, and get acquainted with the market.

Its only good for the listing companies, to rip off unsuspecting investors

...it will still be a failure unless its a company that has one healthy bottom line and the issue is deeply discounted, the CMA hasnt done enough to return investor confidence especially after the scom IPO,recent listings have also done poorly in other jurisdictions this would be looked at in depth by the regulatory authority...not in Kenya.

When is the UAP IPO? What about the GEMS market?
The flurry of listings you seek may come after next year's election...

UAP: Listing on the NSE in 12 to 24 months. They will however be having a public offer soon once they receive CMA approval. Pricing and other details to be put in IM after the CMA approval

GEMS: Has already been gazetted. Growing enterprises should now list via this route

Looks like many are waiting for post-election
