The explanation is VERY VERY VERY EASY.

http://allafrica.com/stories/200807021083.html

July 2008 - A statement from Steadman Group board of directors said that Synovate had acquired 100 per cent interest in the company. The two companies yesterday said there would be no change in the management of Steadman business, but that a re-branding of the company would happen in the near future.

http://www.the-star.co.k...ld-french-research-firm

October 2011 - French based Ipsos announced yesterday it has acquired the entire Synovate business in Africa for close to Sh86.6 billion (£525 million) making it the third largest research firm in the world. Synovate operates in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Zambia and Mozambique.

As MD, what was Waititu's stake in the company? Ipsos paid 86.6 billion for 100% of Synovate's Africa business. How much did Synovate pay for the Steadman business? How large was the Kenya business relative to the Africa business? 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% or maybe even 70%? You can do the math.

Business when it takes off is far more profitable than Kenyan's obsession with buying and selling land. Hapana shangaa na the 'sudden wealth' of jirani yako without realizing they took business risks you were probably too scared to.
All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

Na kununua shares ya blue chip companies like Safcon!

Anyway was Steadman a Kenyan firm wholly?
And was Waititu just an employee and not a major shareholder.

But I'm seeing some cents in your hypothesis.

It is near impossible to convince many Kenyans that they can be billionaires by 30. I blame the song "Someni vijana muongeze pia bidii mwisho wa kusoma mutapata kazi nzuri sana" that prepared them for the dog-chasing-tail kind of life.

His big brother is an Equity Director, so in as much he didn't inherit anything you can be sure he had networks. That is from an early age and also at steadman. Basically a launching pad. Add his brilliance ......

I know of a guy who has been making a killing buying private companies with cash-flow problems (mainly due to bad management) and turning them around. He either holds them or sells them. In either case from the little I have seen the ROI is way beyond plots and shares.

Why do so many people think that the only way to accumulate wealth is by putting a part of your salary in a bank savings account? This is the second worst method; the worst being putting the money under the pillow!

Did you not see what @Stocksmaster did with his 500k?

Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.
