Alot of this executives living in apartments and houses where rent is over 100k usually get their employers to pay for them.

Don't be dupped trying to be like the Jonses if you are in Nairobi for the medium to long haul and you can afford a house, get one. Property prices will not be going down.

I pay 80,000 ksh rent. I used to own a house, but never made sense why I should live in house worth 20million and its not really doing anything for me.

Is my thinking warped??

YES!!

What do you mean your house was doing nothing for you??

1. Your house couldve been worth 60-80million in 20years!

2. You couldve taken a 15million loan with your house as security/collateral if you were really dying to do business!

3. Now in 20years you would have paid 20million in rent with no house to call your own!!

SO SAD!!

May be s/he will have earned 20B in 20yrs and 20M is peanuts to her/him. But Yes! Warped up.

S/He couldve still earned the 20B in 20years by borrowing against the house and starting the land thing but still maintaining ownership!
