I sold all the share I held at that time and paid for the wedding and two weeks honeymoon.

Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

@mukiha..she must have been/is quite a gem.Was there some form of deadline that you had been given?
Coming between me and my shares is a no no.

@mukiha, I hope she does not misbehave...otherwise you are likely to remember missed dividends and capital gains!!

Deadline? What do you mean? Given by whom? I chose to get married; decided to have a wedding and got the money to finance it.

It's that simple, really.

But God works in mysterious ways: At the end of the two-week honeymoon, we had more money remaining than we had spend in the whole ceremony.

Friends and family chipped in on their own volition to help with organising the wedding... many of them in kind... one offered to get us top-quality cards, another one baked and decorated the cake, yet another gave the food....etc and others gave cash.

That, plus the cash gifts given during the wedding, came to more than double what we needed for the wedding and honeymoon!

Nonetheless; I had already sold the shares off before calling friends and relatives to join the committee. After all, for what purpose is all the wealth if it is not going to help you achieve your dreams?

My advise: do a wedding that you can afford and when you afford it and you will be all happy thereafter.
