I am not sure if i am the only person experiencing this but services at BBK have become very poor in the recent past:long queues,System failures etc.Hurlingham Branch has been notorious on this but, other branches are not any better. What could be happening with this bank? They blame it on "new system",whatever that is.... what could be happening with this bank? Sad

Am a member of the so called premier banking and i can confirm the only thing am proud of is my black card.service is poor and am usually discriminated on because of my age and holding that card, but what bothers me most is that after i swipe my name doesn't appear on the receipt and cannot even get sms alerts like other banks.....bbk is walking ahead while looking behind!!

I have the same problem, it took me about 10 trips to get my account changed. On top of that, I've been trying unsuccessfully to get registered to Hello Money for 8 months now, 3 attempts so far. Updating your details also is a nightmare, I got two letters from my employer and both were hand delivered to my branch. Both letters vanished afterwards.

It took me a year to get Internet banking done and when the details finally came, they never worked. I gave up. My only option now for electronic banking is hello money, if and when it works. I miss stanchart.

I gave up on mine.

Thought it was only me. BBK branches take 1hr to serve a maximum serve less than 10 people, equity can serve more than 30 people in an hour.

Been waiting "only" six months. Seems like I have been lucky so far. Shame on you

Internet banking, I gave up.
Trying to change account details, I gave up.
Written communication - I have never received a response from this bank.
Ati prestige / premier banking - you will queue behind four people and remain standing there for 45 minutes.

I am in the process of closing my last account with this bank...once cdsc effect the change in my account details so I can be sure I'll get my dividends, I'm out of here.

@ lucid why did you quit stanchart?

@For Sport I moved to a neighbourhood without a branch. I couldn't afford to drive 10kms to access a stanchart ATM.

..Barclays have been on me to open a business account with them. I have an account with I&M Banks and they treat you like a KING. It took me less than 7 hours for mobile banking.
..I negotiate for Forex both buying or selling and always better than others. You need not belong to a premier club to enjoy premium services. They send you monthly statement on mail and check books issued for personal saving accounts.

You don't have to drive that long for ATM when you have other VISA ATM's around, it's cheaper..just 200bucks!!!!

Why pay 200 bucks everytime I need to do a withdrawal when I can just switch to banks which are in my hood and have no charges on ATM withdrawals? My only complaint with BBK is on Internet banking and sometime mobile banking.

My solution was for the alternative to driving for 10kms!!!

.....all said and done, Barclays simply sucks of late, the result of competing with Equity and trying to please walalos!!!

Yeah; Yeah;

I&M doesn't have that nonsense about "priority banking" for a special breed of customers. At I&M, everyone is a priority banker!

I have been a customer for more than 10 years and has been that way all this time... people think that this sort of service cannot be profitable, but when you look this banks RESULTS... you are astounded - nearly 3.5b PAT last year

I closed my BBK account two yrs or so ago and moved to CBA after BBK Yaya turned me away ati I'm not a 'premier' enough. CBA - best service ever! They just need to increase their number of ATMs.

Another bank that surprised me not only for good service but for working systems is Coop Bank. Queues at Coop Bank are long but they have a very efficient system eg you don't need to fill withdrawal slips to withdraw and the teller free alert thing is brilliant. Oh and I almost forgot, most of their teller booths are occupied unlike in most of the other banks.

BBI will solve it

I also closed my BBK account 4 years ago, moved to Stanchart and i confess i love it. Online banking, mobile services n sms alerts on withdrawal arrive while still inside the ATM booth! I actually manage my acccount online, no problems at all.

Or use 50 bob at pesapoint atm.
But day or night Member beat them ATM-wise.

Last Tuesday I got a sweet deal and was missing only Kes 700 to close the deal.My member was bilaz but I could not withdraw Kes.960 I had in my Roar and so had to deposit Kes.100 by way of Mpesa(thanks) in order to "cheat" Roar so that I could withdraw 1,000....in member you can even withdraw a sok at atm,its my money.
