Uchumi taking off

In its report about uchumi,the govt said it was holding on in order to reap dividends...i wouldnt be surprised if they announce a dividend since the govt is a major shareholder...i think this is what is pushing the price up...a paltry dividend or zero dividend will see the price dip

Uchumi Supermarket has
reported a 21.7 per cent
drop in before tax profit.
The retail chain on Tuesday said before tax profit stood at Sh403 million in the year to June compared to Sh515
million a year earlier.
The firm did not declare a dividend, but analysts report developed with the input of the management indicate
that Uchumi is likely to pay a dividend next year.

I'm looking at today's paper and the board has recommended for approval a first and final dividend of 0.30 per share. Register will be closed on 8 Jan. 2013
