Mutaga, If you are still looking for ideas, my proposal is that you find a few other like minded individuals who you can trust and pool together funds to be able to make a significant investment. 20K is an admirable amount to have saved by this point but the truth is that to be able to start a real venture that has potential, you need more capital as well as partners to exchange ideas with.
Until that happens, the best way to hold the money and have it not lose value is to put it into some real-assets such as livestock. A ka-cow will be able to keep giving you milk and maybe even a calf until you are ready to sell and invest in something bigger.

@ Seeker a deposit with an interest of 13% is essentially useless if the rate of inflation in kenya is at 17%. That means each year you loose 4% in purchasing power. You get it! You have to beat inflation in order to consider your return worthy
As an investor I behave like a tick, patiently waiting on grass and larch onto the first cow that shows up. As an investor I dont behave like a tick...I jump off the the cow as soon as am fully engorged before it dies...

Ive been investing in stocks for more than 20yrs.
For the amount u had, there is no other better investment than that.
