I read allocation was done way back in June Link

And what is the amount of benefit they are getting on the lower interest:
Monthly installment of KES 3.2M at 5% interest - KES 22,497.08
Monthly installment of KES 3.2M at 18% interest - KES 50,006.13
Benefit; 50,006.13 - 22,497.08 = 27,509.05 (KES 5,941,954.80 savings over the 18 years)

All given to them courtesy of our tax payment

Look we have no beef about civil servants getting houses, but using our taxes to subsidize them so that they 'feel' like bankers is daft of the government. Let's face it, our civil servants are a lazy lot who would struggle to work in private sector. Most of them is no fault of their own but the culture and organizational structure of their various units. They are overstaffed, poorly resourced and poorly positioned.

I however would have loved it these houses were reserved for our policemen, prison warders, teachers and soldiers. These lot especially the police and warders live in abject squalor and have to resort to collecting bribes daily to live half decent lives. It's useless and nonsensical for the same government to pretend to house overemployed and poor producing civil servants yet the same government's policemen and warders live in worse conditions than some dogs and horses in Karen!

This negative attitude towards our civil servants need to com t o an end . The last time I checked into a govt office I did not find daft , lazy Kenyan as some of you have shamelessly put it here . There is nothing wrong with an employee benefiting from his employer .
Peace be with you

They also pay tax, and no one stopped u from getting a job in the civil service. Give us a break down of what bankers get.

How will GOK attract quality workers to the civil service without offering any motivating perks??
