Dear Wazuans, Please suggest for me good chest specialists. My bro has been going to Mater for the past 2 months and he does not seem to be improving. They have tested and xrayed and initially treated him for Pneumonia and now he is on TB medication. he is getting worse weeks later. assistance will be appreciated.

This is irrelevant. Goliath asked for a specialist not medical advice!

Dr. Muhindi. He will not just treat him, he will educate him on the cause of illness, explain the diagnosis and answer all questions he may have. Good doctors educate the patient. Muhindi is one of the very best there is. He is a man of faith too, he doesn't preach it, he lives it and it shows in his work.

Smell the coffee. Pneumonia, TB - signatures for immune suppression. A lot of people live in denial and seek irrelevant treatment when a simple course of ARV will sort out the problem.

@peep my only and final comment to you is that there is no denial here, if it was HIV and he needed ARVs i would not bother the many intelligent and not so intelligent people responding here.

not necessarily so... i have a relative who has TB and initially, they'd treated him for pneumonia but it wasn't pneumonia... when they tested TB, it was positive. they tested HIV, it was negative and even after the three months, HIV was still negative. Kwani mtu hawezi gonjeka kifua bila HIV? In any case, by the time any hospital tests you for TB, they'll have sent you for HIV test... and its not like HIV is a death sentence anyway....

Guys should stop reacting like every TB case is an HIV case. We have had TB for ages when there was no HIV.
