We all want Equity to get the succession right, I believe they will. Just like for Safcom, when Bob took over, his style was different and this is what we will get for Equity. The key point will be how prepared the successor will be to take the bank to continued growth.

Dont even mention Safaricom. Their takeover was bungled. Bob only loves festivals, twitter and women. He does not really care about Safaricom as a business. To be frank, it is MPESA and customer loyalty that is keepin Safaricom afloat.
What wrong with liking festivals, twitter & women. I like all three Applause Applause Applause

Maybe his tweet was never answered, while his squeeze's got a retweet and an invite to the chocolate club festival (or what was that group called?)

Did you mean succession?

Anybody here recall Maina Mwangi? Kip reminds a lot of Maina Mwangi. Does Kip actually have any banking experience?

Anyway, the issue of succession planning has been and continues to worry this veteran shareholder. The CFO turnover rate is evidence that something is not kosher...

Equity Bank Group chief executive James Mwangi has been appointed to the Global Agenda Council on New Economic Thinking, a council of the World Economic Forum.

The council is a global think tank to give direction for global, regional and industry agenda, by aligning the commitment of Africa’s leadership to plans and policies for food security to lift 50 million people out of poverty in the next 10 years. “As the Chairman of Kenya’s Vision 2030, I will ensure that we align the aspirations of the country’s economic strategies to the new world thinking to reap the intended benefits,” Mwangi said.
